Suffice to say, 2020 has been one wild year. While being locked down for months on end and not knowing when we can get off the carousel ride, Azalea Design Co. wanted to share a refreshing post focusing on 2021 design trends.
From color schemes and prints, to font pairings and content creation- here’s what you should be paying attention to when it comes to your business style.
Goodbye cool colors and hello warmth
We don’t know about you, but we look forward to Pantone’s “Color of the Year” announcement like it’s awards season. Over the past years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has always leaned toward tones that were always cool in comparison to this year which we are LOVING. Not only do these colors pair beautifully together, but stand up on their own with no issue.
“Illuminating” and “Ultimate Gray” were chosen with a meaning behind each hue. Illuminating (the gorgeous lemon tone) has been described by Pantone as “optimistic” and “energetic”, while Ultimate Gray represents “fortitude” and “endurance”. Something we all need a little bit of, this year.
Classic fonts and a little bit of nostalgia
At Azalea Design Co. font pairings is something we live for, but for others, it can be a little daunting. The possibilities and pairings are endless, enough to make your head spin, but we’re noticing a change and we are here for it.
The last couple of years it was all about ultra-feminine calligraphy and rustic typography, but now retro-inspired fonts are making a comeback. CreativeBloom.com calls for Art Deco, 1970’s inspired fonts with European flare along with classic Sans fonts with clean, simple lines that can be paired with delicate scripts.
Create a community
Let’s leave the “influencer” in 2020, shall we? Instead of encouraging lifestyle insecurity, fakery and pressure encourage yourself to grow a community for your business or even yourself.
Now, more than ever, connection is key and by creating a consistent online presence, you’ll develop the communication skills for professional online relationships as well as meeting new people from the comfort of your own home.
We can all use community, even if virtually, so make 2021 your year to start a social media group, email campaigns to make special announcements and creative IG stories to keep connected!
The Laws of Attraction
Striving for a little bit of order and organization in the midst of all this chaos? Suggesting a planner is easy, but suggesting a planner with intention, is a whole other story. Not to toot our own horn, but…
Azalea Design Co. has created the perfect journal/planner hybrid for you and your business. We’re all about keeping things organized, but we wanted to add a little…spice. Instead of just planning your Zoom meetings, budget and errand lists- also focus on your goals, dreams and plans for both your personal and professional life.
It’s great to have your days laid out before you, but it’s even better to make sure that what you visualize for your life is laid out for you to see everyday, as well. Let’s make 2021 the year we take control, make a plan and see it through!
Now you’ve seen our top 2021 design trends, which one are you most excited to see more of this year?
