I was with Wix for a year as I was building my business. I also know a lot of people who are drawn to a Wix website as it is easy to use and totally affordable for a startup. Plus there are always offers and it includes a free domain.
Although the perks seem great, I found that the Wix support over the phone was helpful but that their help centre concealed some important information.
As my yearly plan was coming to an end, I decided to change website provider and move to Showit.
But this created a bit of a problem trying to change over my domain name and G-Suite which I purchased through Wix.
If you leave your domain to expire, it will take 30-35 days to be available on the market again. You can always try to hurry it up but will cost $100 AND take 5-10 days to be all set up.
I’m sorry but this is not good enough if you want a seamless website move away from Wix.
